Darius Wimby

Darius WimbyDarius Wimby is a proud native of Atlanta, GA.  He is an alumnus of Georgia State University, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Print Journalism and a certificate in Hospitality Administration, specializing in Event Management and Tradeshows.  He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Secondary English Education from Georgia State University, and will be graduating in May 2017.  Darius has over eight years of experience in English/Language Arts education, student development and mentorship, college readiness programs for middle and high school students, and event planning and management. He is currently employed with the Multicultural Center at Georgia State as the Graduate Assistant for Advocacy and Student Success, where he advises the student-led Multicultural Programming Council and plans various events for the office.

Darius has been a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. for five years and has held various leadership and appointed positions on the local, state and national levels.  He is also an active member of the DeKalb County Helen M. Ruffin Reading Bowl Steering Committee and the Black 90s Archive Committee.
